Resilience, An Unbroken Spirit

The story of a young woman's triumph over a devastating neurological condition and her battle with anal cancer.

Thank you for stopping by to visit my website.

It took me about 2.5 years  to publish my memoir. I began writing my manuscript in fall, 2009. Writing, researching, crying, taking a break, rewriting, researching, rewriting, needing to take another break, laughing,  rewriting, editing with editor, and more editing, ugh! My   writing coach once said to me "Writing is rewriting". He was certainly right about that!

The book begins in December, 2005, when I was first diagnosed with anal cancer . The middle of
the book describes  my experiences from having brain surgery which altered my life forever. The last section of the book describes  when my health challenges first began, having a stroke in 1990 at the age of 30.
Overall, I share how I overcame many obstacles as a young woman, due to various medical related issues, also meeting the demanding challenges of life.

It is my goal to inspire, encourage, or comfort the reader by sharing my personal experiences.
I try to end my story on a positive note, sharing with the reader my healthy and harmonious life today. I am blessed to be in good health today and to be able to enjoy the fruits  of my  labor, the love and hard work that I put into my book.   I published my memoir in November 2012. My true Labor of Love is now here!

One of the happiest days in my life was to limp down the isle to marry this AWESOME man in October, 1995.

I have lived an adventurous life thus far and have met so many wonderful people over the years. I love my authentic self; the strong, beautiful, brown woman who I am today. I AM TRULY BLESSED!
